M. Stephen Lukac
Author of Oogie Boogie Central and But Then Again, You'll Have
This...
Steve is a married father of three, a
professional bookseller and a still-aspiring writer. OOGIE BOOGIE CENTRAL
was released in 2003, followed by BUT THEN AGAIN, YOU'LL HAVE THIS... later
that year. He's also a bit of a smart ass, which will come as no surprise to
regular readers.

Oogie Boogie Central is a place that
doesn't fall on any map.
Oogie Boogie Central is a state of mind no therapy can cure.
Alex Harrison has a secret. The psychiatrists who examined him during his
commitment at Ravenswood Asylum erroneously diagnosed him with Multiple
Personality Disorder. Three years later, Alex’s co-workers at PageSmart
Bookstore have labeled him as eccentric. His supervisors appreciate his
diligence and diverse skills, even if he does talk to himself sometimes.
Milo Tucker seems to have a good life. He loves his wife Sharon and excels
in his career as a department store security manager. He’s no Adonis, but
the power of his intellect and the force of his personality compensate for
any physical shortcomings. His friends love him fiercely. His enemies keep a
respectful distance. Yet, Milo Tucker is miserable.
Oogie Boogie Central begins at the intersection of these men’s lives. Alex’s
secret and the source of Milo’s misery collide in a subway station. The
failed capture of serial killer Theodore Munsch is the catalyst that fuels
the story of two men with enough in common to change both their lives
forever, if they can survive.
Oogie Boogie Central is a supernatural thriller based on the premise that
Multiple Personality Disorder is more than a disputed listing in the DSM-4R.
What if Multiples, rather than suffering from a psychological malady, were
beings that could collect souls at the point of death, harvesting all of
their memories and abilities, both physical and mental. What if there were
two groups of these beings: Hunters, who could possess one additional soul;
and Gatherers, who could house up to seven. Only by harvesting a Gatherer
can a Hunter gain the Gatherer’s abilities.
What if a Hunter harvested a serial killer?
